While many parents are familiar with the benefits of AP classes and exams, most parents are not familiar with the advantage of clep tests. Similar to AP classes, students can utilize [http://www.speedyprep.com/clep_exam_procedure.aspx CLEP exams] to earn valuable college credits prior to enrolling in college. However, one distinct advantage of a clep test compared to AP tests is the requirements to sit for an exam. Any high school or college student is permitted to sit for a clep exam without taking any specific courses are meeting any certain requirements. The student is allowed to prepare for the clep exams using web-based study programs, textbooks, or any other method that will result in a college-level proficiency of the material.

[http://www.speedyprep.com CLEP], which stands for College Level Exam Program, currently offers 34 exams. A passing score on a clep test provides the student with 3 to 12 college credits depending on the exam, the score, and the individual’s college requirement. There are currently over 2,900 colleges that accept clep credits towards a degree! The fees for testing, proctoring, and preparation normally totals around $100 per clep test. When compared to the considerable costs associated with college, each clep test that a high school student passes can easily save the parents thousands of dollars!
==Introduction==

During economic times like the present, [http://www.speedyprep.com/clep-test-study-guides.aspx CLEP tests] offer the best value in college education. The reasons are the substantial cost savings and the timesavings for the college student. A motivated high school student could test out of 48 college credits saving tens of thousand of dollars and skipping the first two years of college. Since the student has finished college two years early, they can utilize this time to pursue a masters degree or enter the workforce earlier. Either way, a college student who utilizes clep exams will likely earn more during their career. The question for students is not whether or not to clep out of subjects, but how to best prepare for these exams in the minimum time.

The wiki also hosts development resources, such as brainstorming pages for new formats and issue tracking pages for all current and in-development microformats.

With convenient web-based programs like SpeedyPrep.com, high school students can study from anywhere and anytime. SpeedyPrep is a technologically advanced system that monitors each student’s progress and provides the student with a personalized student folder. The student folder stores data on correct and incorrect questions and informs the student the percentage of module completion and course completion. The SpeedyPrep study system was designed to prepare students for clep tests in minimal time by focusing their study time on weak areas. Since the courses were designed with the actual clep exam in mind, the student will not have to spend valuable time wading through unnecessary information. The SpeedyPrep system uses a complex alogrithim to determine student readiness and actually informs the student when they have studied enough to achieve a passing score on the clep exam!
To get started with microformats:

All of the SpeedyPrep courses are specifically developed to prepare students for clep exams. The development process includes analyzing possible test content, organizing the content in an efficient manner, and considering feedback from students who have passed specific clep exams. Since the experts have designed these courses with the goal of passing scores, SpeedyPrep has a 99% pass rate on the actual clep tests for students who complete a course and guarantees your student will pass the exam or the service is free!

<entry-title>Welcome to the microformats wiki!</entry-title>

Please start with the introduction page and read how-to-play before making any edits.

Introduction

This wiki is the central resource of the microformats community. You'll find current versions of published microformat specifications, specification drafts and publishing patterns. The wiki also hosts development resources, such as brainstorming pages for new formats and issue tracking pages for all current and in-development microformats.

To get started with microformats:

Also, this wiki has a number of neat enhancements to assist development and contributions to microformats. Before you start editing, see the wiki introduction page for instructions.

Definition

Microformats are small patterns of HTML to represent commonly published things like people, events, blog posts, reviews and tags in web pages.

Microformats enable the publishing of higher fidelity information on the Web; the fastest and simplest way to provide feeds and APIs for the information in your website.

How to contribute

Do you want to help take microformats to the next level? You can:

Specifications

The list of current, stable Microformats open standard specifications.

If you're tempted to try your hand at writing a microformat please read the process page first!

Drafts

Drafts are newer microformats, for which the specifications haven't been completed yet. Drafts are somewhat mature in the development process (see exploratory-discussions for additional efforts that are not as far along in the process). The stability of these documents cannot be guaranteed, and implementers should be prepared to keep abreast of future developments and changes. Please watch the wiki pages for updates.

  • adr - for marking up address information
  • geo - for marking up WGS84 geographic coordinates (latitude; longitude)
  • hAtom - syndicating episodic content (e.g. weblog postings)
  • hAudio
  • hMedia - A single media publishing format that relates to Images, Video and Audio.
  • hProduct
  • hRecipe - for cooking+baking recipes
  • hResume - for publishing resumes and CVs
  • hReview - hReview creator
  • rel-directory - to indicate that the destination of a hyperlink is a directory listing containing an entry for the current page
  • rel-enclosure - for indicating attachments (e.g. files) to download and cache
  • rel-home - indicate a hyperlink to the homepage of the site
  • rel-payment - indicate a payment mechanism
  • robots exclusion
  • xFolk

Design Patterns

Design patterns are common uses of markup across microformats.

Exploratory Discussions

See: exploratory-discussions for details of research and analysis of real-world examples, existing formats, and brainstorming of possible new microformats, per the microformats process.

Examples

Resources

See resources.

User centric development

Shared work areas

Tools, test cases, additional research

The first place to look for examples, code, and test cases is in the pages for each individual microformat. There are only a few cross-cutting tools and services that need to process more than one microformat. That section is intended for editors, parsers, validators, test cases, and other information relevant across multiple microformats.

Microformats wiki translations
